Gateway Select is an innovative talent pathway for those seeking to become pilots at JetBlue. This particular Gateway Program will allow an applicant, if successful, to learn with us from the beginning and become a JetBlue pilot after completing a rigorous training program.
This unique, accessible and cost effective JetBlue Pilot Gateway Program will take a more competency-based approach to becoming a professional pilot. The Program will optimize the training of prospective airline pilots by offering early exposure to multi-crew/multi-engine operations, full motion simulator training, crew resource management, and threat and error management. Once meeting all program requirements, including the FAA's 1,500 flight-hour requirement, pilots will become a new hire at JetBlue. At that time, graduates will go through the same orientation and six-week instruction that all first officers complete.
If accepted into the program, students follow a multi-phase training sequence over the course of three-four years.
  • Foundation Course: Introduction to JetBlue and flying
  • Primary Training: Private Pilot through Commercial Multi-Engine Certificate
  • Airline Preparation Course: Jet training at JetBlue University
  • Instructor Training: CFI/CFII Training

Job Description

The aim of the Cadet Pilot Training program is to provide Etihad Aviation Group (the "Company") with qualified future pilots and aviation professionals trained according to the highest international standards to support the growth of the airline. The Trainee will be developed into a well-rounded individual, equipped with a superior set of technical, personal and professional skills. Duties and Responsibilities

Your main responsibilities in this role include the following:

  • Diligently participate in the Training to obtain MPL and do everything to successfully complete the Training Program within the prescribed period.

  • Comply with all instructions, laws, rules and regulations whether verbal, written or otherwise of the Company, the Training Organization and any organization associated with the Company.

  • Attend all classes and undergo tests and examinations which may from time to time be required by the Company and/or the Training Organization.

  • Achieve the target results in all exams, assignments and training sessions required by the Company and/or the Training Organization as part of the programme

  • Serve the Company; solely, for the Minimum Service Period of 5 years.

  • Wear the uniform as required by the Company and/or the Training Organization and maintain a suitable appearance.

  • Attend any extended or additional Training if the Comapny or the Training Organization determines that attendance of such Training by the trainee is necessary.

  • Not to accept any other training, grant or other form of financial assistance from any other person or institution which may render the cadet obliged to offer any service of any nature.

  • Agree to be bound by any rules, terms and conditions imposed by the Company or the Training Organization in their reasonable opinion.

  • Use all Training materials, equipment, tools and facilities with care and return them to the Company or the Training Organization in the same condition as when received at the completion or termination of the Training.

Your main responsibilities in this role include the following:

  • The Airman Trainee will report to the Director of Flying and Chief Pilot and be employed with Air Wisconsin as a part-time employee that is actively working towards their goal of becoming a Commercial Airline Pilot within the Airline Industry.

  • The Airman Trainee will be committed to qualifying for a Restricted ATP License while actively participating in Air Wisconsin mandated events with the opportunity of entering into the Air Wisconsin CTP Training Course.

  • Between the 1st and 15th of each month, must complete and update Air Wisconsin’s online Pilot Hours Calculator. After completing the Hours Calculator with the most recent flight hours, and before the end of the second week in the month, the Airman Trainee must make phone contact with an Air Wisconsin designated representative to discuss the completed calculator results.

  • Between the 15th and 25th of each month, participate in an Air Wisconsin distance learning module.

We do not require a training contract or pay for training program. Lodging and transportation are provided along with 2.5 block hours of pay.

First Officer starting pay at $36.06/hour as well as sign-on bonuses up to $57,000, which is among the highest in the industry! Per diem is at $1.75/hour.
